Our eye doctors have many instruments to provide comprehensive eye exams

Equipment

With the latest in diagnostic instruments we are able to provide care for all ages including infants and handicap.

The image to the right is an actual digital image of the eye.  The round circle is the optic nerve with blood vessels coming out of it.  The red spot is the macula and is where you actually "see".  You cannot see your own optic nerve or if there were small changes to it like glaucoma.  This is why it is important to have a regular eye exam even if you think you see fine.

With multiple automated equipment to test your eye pressure, take a digital image of the retina for disease, peripheral visual field analysis, Keratometry reading for the shape of your eye if you want contacts, and auto refraction (estimate of your final glasses prescription).  All these tests are done BEFORE you see the Optometrist.

At our Skibo location we have additional equipment to do further extensive testing if you are at high risk for glaucoma including a Gdx retinal nerve fiber layer analyzer and a Humphrey Threshold Visual Field Perimeter.

All lanes are equipped with Acuity Pro software projector on computer monitors to give crisp images for you to look at rather than old projector or wall charts with the big E.  Children's charts are also available for view that contains pictures rather than letter or videos for your child to concentrate view so the doctor can better evaluate their eyes.
